The library provides accessible services using current technology and contemporary facilities. The library is a recognized contributor to the high quality of life in the community through exceptional services and valued partnerships.

Meetings
We meet monthly the 2nd Monday of every month except in October where we meet on the 3rd Monday due to Thanksgiving. No meeting is held in August. The minimum number of Board meetings is ten (10) per year.

Heritage Alnwick/Haldimand and Heritage Cemeteries Committee
About
The Heritage Advisory Committee is a Volunteer Committee to the Municipal Council of the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand.
The committee is charged with the preservation and cataloging of heritage items to advise and assist Council in all heritage matters and to educate our community of its history.
We accomplish this by:
Offering advice and assistance on all matters of designation, alteration, demolition, conservation (including preservation, rehabilitation) of built and natural heritage in the Township.
Researching, exploring and identifying heritage assets, including built structures, land features, historical artifacts, and cultural-historical resources.
Offering advice regarding plans for change and progress so they are developed in a manner that recognizes the historical continuity of the community.
Overseeing the heritage cemeteries.
Promoting public participation in heritage matters through education and information sharing, citizen participation in celebrating our collective cultural heritage.
Assisting in facilitation and promotion of heritage tourism.
Answering all inquiries related to heritage matters.
Presenting an annual budget to undertake these activities for approval.

The Committee meets once per month to review activities and projects.

Police Services Board
Purpose
The Board provides civilian oversight to the activities of the Ontario Provincial Police for the residents of Alnwick/Haldimand.
Meetings
Meetings are held the last Friday of every month at 1:30 PM at the Municipal Office in Grafton, 10836 County Road 2. Meetings are open to the public. Requests for delegation should be sent to Secretary/Treasurer of the Board, Debbie McBride, by email.

How Can You Help?
Are you a Township of Alnwick/Haldimand resident or taxpayer looking to get involved in your community? If so, you should consider joining a Committee or Board with the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand!
Committee members are appointed every four (4) years with a four (4) year term which coincides with the current term of Council who selected them.

To be qualified to serve on a Committee or Board you must:
Live in the municipality, or be an owner/tenant of land (or spouse of same) for the length of your term.
Be at least 18 years of age, unless otherwise stated in the Committee or Board's Terms of Reference.
Not be employed by the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand.
In addition to the general requirements listed above, specific skills and/or experiences needed for membership on each Committee or Board will be provided by way of Terms of Reference approved by Council.

All appointments are made by Council. Copies of all applications will be made available to Council for consideration. Council will select suitable applicants to openings based on the information presented in and attached to the application form. After appointments are finalized by Council resolution, the Municipal Clerk will notify all applicants, with Council's decision.

Unless otherwise established, the term of appointment to a Committee or Board, by way of Council resolution, will be a four (4) year term. This four (4) year term will coincide with the existing term of Council who appointed them.
